LT. CDR. EDGAR M. SMITH, JR.,
USN - DEC. 26,
2000

He served aboard USS Boxer,
Korea, earned his wings in 1952, and retired in 1970. He was Assistant Naval Attache in
Athens, Greece, obtaining his Masters Degree from Florida State
University, and was a financial analyst in Atlanta, Georgia, then Deputy Director of
the Bureau of Transportation. Mitch retired in 1992.

USN - DEC.
25, 2000

(LB) "At Bullis Prep., Bob was
active in football, basketball and baseball. He continued his football
playing here and his biggest personal thrill came when he climaxed a
successful Plebe season by scoring a touchdown against his old Alma Mater.
Bob's height and fine base voice made him a natural standout in the Naval
Academy Choir."

CDR. HARRY E. HOWREN, JR., USNR

Granted a medical discharge less
than one year at USNA, he was a retired obstetrician and gynecologist who
practiced in Richmond, VA for 35 years. He was flight surgeon for Carrier
Air Group 16. Attained the rank of CMDR, USNR in 1975.

LT. BREWER DIXON, JR., USAF - NOV. 20,
2000

He was assigned to Strategic Air
Command, USAF and flew reconnaisance flights over the Soviet Union in the
1950's. After leaving the Air Force he pursued private business in
California and Florida.

CPT. LLOYD E. HARRISON, JR.,
USAF - OCT.

LLoyd was with the Thor ballistic missile program
operations. He resigned as CPT, USAF in 1960. He was a Project Manager for Hughes
Aircraft Corp. in Space and Communcations propulsion and satellite
systems; involved in SDI. He loved the mountains and deserts of the West and
American history and spent retirement years camping with his family

CPT. HENRY P. KILROY, USAF - SEP. 29,
2000

Received his master's degree at MIT.
Served as a Captain, USAF, in Korea. A business executive in the computer
industry, he was co-founder of Datamedic Corporation of New York. A
community volunteer in retirement.

CAPT. WILLIAM H. AYRES, JR.,
USN - SEP.
12, 2000

Upon graduation he served on USS Power
and USS Healy. As a submariner, he served on USS Becuna, USS
Caiman, and USS Salmon. He commanded USS Pomodon, said to be the most advanced underwater vessel of its time.
He commanded two submarine divisions and was Chief of Staff of Joint Tactical
Communications at Fort Monmouth, NJ. He retired in 1980 and worked for ten
years at Tracor Inc. as program manager supporting submarine combat system
trainers.

CPT. ROGER M. FREEMAN, JR.,
USAF - AUG.
29, 2000

Roger retired from the Air Force in
1956. He then worked as an engineer for General Electric, Honeywell and
Control Data. He was an active member of the Crescent Society, an
organization formed by retirees. Roger's passion in life was his art. Many
friends are recipients of his artistic talents.

cooperative, he lent stability to the company group, making it apparent
that his well-developed Kansas personality would stand him well in Navy
life."

join as an honorary county. His favorite pastime was sack duty with
a book of sea stories or the latest issue of the Saturday Evening Post.
Dragging lost its priority when a New York model decided that he was too
tied up with the Naval Academy and steam."

LT. DANIEL K. MAYO, USN - MAR. 31, 2000

He sang resounding base as a sterling
member of the 12-50's while at USNA. His initial assignment was USS St. Paul in Korea.
He worked for
Westinghouse Corp. as a design engineer in electronics, and kept his hand
in the 12-50's over the years during memorable reunions..

CAPT. JAMES A. ALLEN, USN - MAR. 30, 2000

In 1953 Jim was the flag lieutenant
for Cruiser Division Commander in the Mediterranean where he met and
married Martine. He brought his new bride to Charlestown in 1954 where he
commanded minesweeper Ruff until 1955. He later commanded tank landing
ship Terrell County and destroyer G.K. MacKenzie off Vietnam. He and
Martine enjoyed an ice cream business in Edmonds, WA.

CAPT. ROBERT L. RINGHAUSEN,
USN - MAR.
01, 2000

He retired from the Navy as a
Captain after 30 years of service, and from Raytheon Service Co. after ten
years. He was a Korean War veteran. He received his MBA from Stanford in
1960. Bob was a member of First Landing Chapel at Fort Story; president of
Kiwanis Beachcombers, member of the USNA Alumni Association and vice
president of First Landing Seashore State Park.

CPT. CLIFFORD E. CRAFTS, USAF - JAN. 22,
2000

He served in the Air Force until
1954, and earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Bsiness, University of
Pennsylvania. He had his own insurance agency in Smithtown, NY, and later
served two terms in the county legislature. An avid golfer and member of
yacht clubs, Cliff was "a gentleman, a man of his word, and a very
ethical and moral businessman".

CAPT. J. KENDRICK NOBLE, JR.,
USN - JAN.
22, 2000

He earned his wings at Corpus
Christi in 1952, then joined VP-21 in Pautuxent River and was later
stationed in Brunswick, ME and Malta. In 1956 he attended Naval
Postgraduate School and subsequently taught in the Engineering Department
at USNA. He was an officer and director of Noble and Noble Publishers,
Inc., a Wall Street investment advisor, and a senior media analyst for
Paine Webber, Inc. He founded Noble Consultants, Inc., authored books,
spoke at national media conferences and wrote
prolifically.
