The Vice Admiral Ralph E. and Frances Shifley Lecture Series is supported by the USNA Class of 1950, in recognition of a large grant by the Shifleys to the class of 1950 Museum Endowment Fund. Admiral Shifley graduated in the class of 1933, was designated a Naval Aviator in 1937, and participated in many major Naval Engagements in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He retired in 1971 and died in 1995. Class President Bob Monroe and President Emeritus Roy Snyder have brought this series to fruition, as a tribute to the Shifleys, in cooperation with the USNA Museum Director.

 CDR Claud Berube, USN (Ret), USNA Museum Director, has produced this lecture series, which brings to the Naval Academy a wide ranging group of competent speakers offering many facets of Naval History. Mr. Berube has placed on facebook and links (select below) streaming video of the series for the entertainment and enlightenment of members of the public who are unable to attend each lecture at Preble Hall.
