Bylaws of the Executive Committee of the Association of the Class of 1950, United States Naval Academy

1. Implementation:

With the consent of the members of the Washington chapter, the Class officers and the Class as a whole, a Class Executive Committee is formed in accordance with Articles Four and Six of the Class Constitution, effective 1 June 1965.

2. Purpose:

The purpose of the Executive Committee is to maintain that spirit of comradeship which is traditional to classes of the United States Naval Academy. Recognizing that the Washington area is the site where the largest concentration of classmates is located, and that the Class officers are frequently not located here, the Executive Committee shall manage the Washington Chapter and shall function for the Class officers in the direction of class affairs.

3. Membership:

The Executive Committee shall consist of five members: Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary/Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary, and one additional member, all to be elected for a two year term of office as vacancies occur. Any classmate present at an election may vote for the Executive Committee. Members of the Executive Committee shall include those classmates living in the Washington area and those from other areas who would plan to attend Committee meetings regularly. A quorum shall consist of three members of the Executive Committee. Class officers shall be "ex officio" members of the Executive Committee and the Class President shall act as Chairman whenever he resides in the Washington area. When Class officers reside in the Washington area and serve as active members of the Executive Committee, the membership may then be greater than five, in which case no vacancy will be deemed to exist until the total active membership becomes less than five. It shall be the duty of every member of the Executive Committee to notify the Chairman or other authority prior to his departure from the Washington area.

4. Finances:

Periodic assessments may be made against members of the Washington chapter and requested from other members of the Class. The Secretary/Treasurer shall take complete charge of the Executive Committee funds and shall keep an account of them. An audit of these funds shall be made annually prior to the first meeting of the year and upon the relief of the Secretary/Treasurer. The audit shall be conducted by at least two other members of the Executive Committee. Disbursements in the amount of $10.00 or less may be made upon the approval of the Chairman. A majority of the Executive Committee shall approve disbursements in excess of $10.00.

5. Changes:

These Bylaws, having been approved by a majority of the Washington Chapter, may be changed by a majority of the Washington Chapter.
