CDR. CHARLES T. KESSING, USNR - DEC. 30, 2013

Charles was a Navy Officer with Navigator Wings before attending the Naval Academy. On graduation he was assigned on cruisers and destroyers. He was involved with Electrical Engineering, Project Engineering and Project Management 1950 -1954  and after retirement received an MBA Degree at Xavier University which led to registration as a professional engineer.
 
LCOL MARSHALL J. TREADO, USMC - DEC. 25, 2013

Marshall spent several years in the Fleet Marine Force, stationed at Camp Lejeune and in Korea. Following guided missile school, he was assigned to missile units at China Lake and 29 Palms and Hq. Marine Corps in Guided Missile development and procurement work.

L.B. "A Chicago torpedo if ever there was one, Lou bludgeoned his way to instructorship at Gulfport and was on the verge of becoming a Chief when he decided to cast his chips with the Congressional gentlemen."
 
MR. CHARLES B. P. SELLAR, USMC - DEC. 21, 2013

He  had Korean service with the Marine Corps and resigned in 1954. He received a JD degree from the University of Forida, entered private practice in Leesburg, FL,  was appointed a Municipal Judge in 1958, and specialized in real property law.
COL JOHN M. KIRK, USAF - DEC. 10, 2013

After training as a Bombadier and Navigator his assignments included twelve years in SAC as a crewmember on B-36 and B-52 aircraft. He taught astronomy at the Air Force Academy and was a crew member on EB-66 aircraft in Southeast Asia in 1968. He was assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency in Hong Kong and in Addis Ababa, Ethopia. He served as Vice Commander of the Officer Training School in San Antonio and of the 323rd Flying Training Wing in Sacremento, CA.. He received an MA at the University of Denver and a PHD at the University of Texas, following which he was a Professor of Political Science and International Studies at St. Edward's Univeersity.
MAJ ROBERT H. BABBE, USAF - DEC. 08, 2013

L.B. "With his Bogart-like mumbling, we had trouble uncovering the inherent quick wit, but his six foot frame gave us no trouble understanding his spot with the Varsity Crew." Bob earned his MS degrees in Instrumentation  and Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Michigan. During the 1950's, he pioneered the use of high-altitude sounding rockets with the U.S. Air Force, and he developed a uinique three-stage rocket to test the effects of reentry into the earth's atmosphere. In 1960 Bob moved into the Active Reserve, USAF, and retired from Ford Aerospace in 1987 as Director of Advanced Development Operations.

CAPT THOMAS J. MULLIGAN, JR., USN - SEP. 15, 2013

L.B." Tom's quiet manner and his unique sense of humor won him many friends during his four years at the Academy." Supply Corps. School, four and a half year's sea duty, two years at NSY Philadelphia, two and a half years as a civilian; returned to active duty; two years as Assistant Head, Procurement Review Group, Office of Naval Material, Washington, DC.

LT NELSON K. ROGERS, USNR - SEP. 15, 2013

L.B." Weekends never found Rog alone, for his strings were too numerous to count. The ability to make plans and carry them out indicates a very successful career for him." He received a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1956, and became Assistant Director, Engineering Research, at Waterman Steamship Corporation. Later he was Director, Stevedoring Operations, Penlantic Steamship Corporation, .

CDR WILLIAM B. WRIGHT, USN - JUL. 27, 2013

L.B. "Thoughtful, sincere, always eager to help a buddy over the hurdles, his easy going manner is fully suggestive of the warm and sunny South; and we'll miss his amusing tales of Myrtle Beach, Southern belles, and fried chicken. But Willie has much to offer the Navy in the way of intellect, resourcefulness, and good sound character." Bill first reported to U.S.S. Saipan, then to Pensacola, FL for flight training. After receiving his wings he reported to Fighter Squadron 173, the renowned "Jesters", flying Grumman Cougars. Subsequent tours included flight and ground instructor in Training Command, transition to helicopters and a tour with HS-1 in Key West, FL. He became Aide and Flag Secretary to Commander, Carrier Division 14 on U.S.S. Wasp out of Boston, MA. Follow-on tours were Monterrey, CA; Key West, FL; Keflavik, Iceland and Atlanta, GA.After retirement Bill worked in Real Estate and as Vice-President, Eastern Regional Director of Douglas Guardian Warehouse Corporation.
LT NORMAN K. MULLIN, USN - JUL. 8, 2013

L.B. "His atributes and natural ability will carry him to any goal he chooses in life." Norm served aboard a minesweeper in the Mediterranean, North Atlantic, and the Far East. He was the owner and President of C.K. Mullin, Inc. before retiring in 1991.
 
LCDR DANIEL D. M. WILLARD, USN - JUN. 6, 2013

L. B. "As his shadow and comerade-in-dissipation, one Cruscin has remarked, "Dan doesn't quite know where he is going or how, but he's having a wonderful time getting there." Upon receiving his wings, Dan served on the U.S.S. Saratoga. He became a night fighter pilot and a test pilot. After leaving the Navy he worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Co., then opened Kindersport, a childrens' only ski and sporting goods company.
 
LT MYRON E. LESLIE, USN - MAY 19, 2013

He sailed on the U.S.S. Juneau off Korea; attended EMF school at Treasure Island, CA; then served on the U.S.S. Conway, followed by assignment to the Fleet Training Center at Newport, RI, and resigned his commission in 1954. Mike worked at the Heintz Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia, followed by the Potts-Farrington Company, a steel service center, and Fanning Schuet Engineering Company. In 1967 he became the owner of Hussong-Walker-Davis Company, a textile-dyeing  machinery company.
COL KENNETH R. BURNS, USAF - MAY 18, 2013

L.B. "Robin has been a staunch advocate of the Radiator Squad at Navy Tech and was a confirmed Red Mike until Youngster year, when he snapped out of it. He hasn't lost interest since." He was a pilot and earned an MA degree at AFIT. According to a friend, he flew Forward Air Control missions in Korea in an AT-6. During the Cold War he piloted a B-29 photo reconnaissance aircraft along the Soviet border. In Viet Nam, he flew Convairs and the Caribou on Special Forces Rescue operations, earning two distinguished Flying Crosses and a dozen Air Combat medals. His last duty station was at White Sands, NM, where he worked on missile inertial guidance systems.
 
LTJG GEORGE J. BOWEN, USN - MAY 17, 2013

George was a veteran of WW II and the Korean War. He had two years of active duty in the Supply Corps. Following his resignation he worked eight months with Sears Roebuck; two years with Shell Oil Company; and eight years with General Electric Company. He received an MBA at Georgia State University in 1968 and taught Economics and Business Administration at local colleges in Atlanta, GA.
 
CAPT FRED W. TERRELL, USN - APR. 09, 2013

He served on the U.S.S. Mississippi and on U.S.S. LSM as gunnery officer with Korean deployment, then attended Submarine School. He home ported at Pearl Harbor on the U.S.S. Besugo, then at San Diego on U.S.S. Diadon. He was a member of the commissioning crew aboard the U.S.S. Bonefish as Operations Officer, Navigator and later as Executive Officer. He subsequently commanded the diesel submarine U.S.S. Rock as well as a Submarine Division. Fred received his MA Degree at George Washington University, and later worked for General Electric, retiring as Manager of Marine Operations.
 
CAPT RAY C. BARBER, USN - MAR. 03, 2013

L.B."Ray's experience, mechanical talents, and (possibly) his lack of ability to see far above decks mark him as a promising candidate for an engineering career." He served aboard the Essex, the Hailey, the Ticonderoga, and the John F, Kennedy. His primary focus was on Aviation Supply, with his final duty station at COMNAVAIRLANT in Norfolk, VA. Upon retiring from the Navy, Ray dabbled in Real Estate and started two successful companies.
 
LT ROBERT J. TROTTER, USN - FEB. 18, 2013

L.B. "As a manager of the Track Team, Bob spent his afternoons at Thompson Stadium or running on the Company Cross-Country Team. An avid music lover, he could usually be found listening to portions of his record collection."
 
LCDR GEORGE E. CONATORE, USNR - FEB. 16, 2013

L.B. "Although sports took up much of his leisure time,he always left enough for his first loves, sack time and soft music. His main ambition is to fly and to own a ranch in his beloved Colorado." He served on U.S.S. BRINKLY BASS in  Korea. In 1956 he worked for Electric Boat at tha Mare Island shipyard in California as an engineer on the nuclear submarine program.

LCDR MORTIMER J. RICHARDSON, USNR - JAN. 26, 2013

L.B. "Mort could always be found submerged in search of crabs, lobsters or mermaids. Distinguished by his curly black hair, he became a familiar sight at the brigade boxing matches - proving the outstanding 165-pounder." He had active duty in Japan, Korea, Atlantic, Northern Europe, Meditarranean, San Diego, Hawaii, Phiippines, India, Saudi Arabia,, and Baltimore; resigned in 1960 and worked for Space Technology Laboratories, Inc. in Los Angeles. He was President and CEO of Placer Management Corp. in Irvine, CA.
 
CDR MAHLON S. HUFF, USN - JAN. 23, 2013

L.B. "Here is one of those strong silent men you read of, but seldom meet." He was a Navy pilot, a veteran of the Korean War, and served on the U.S.S. Midway. 
 
LCDR GEORGE P. RITCHIE, JR., USNR - JAN. 23, 2013

L.B. "A Southern gentleman with his soothing drawl,he always had a word of comfort for all." He served during the Korean Conflict, resigned and worked for both Douglas Aircraft and Boeing Company. Later he operated a NAPA business.
