LTC. FREDERICK W. JOHNSON, USAF - DEC. 24, 2007

He served as a photographer in the Atlantic Theater in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and as a Civil Engineer in the Korean and Vietnam Theaters with the U.S. Air Force. He received a graduate degree (MAT) from the University of Massachusetts, and was a graduate of the Air Force Institute of Technology and its Command and Staff School. On retirement he published a range of technical and environmental papers, conceived Pennsylvania's "Adopt a Stream" program, and was named Pennsylvania's Outstanding Professional Conservationist of PA.
 

CDR. JEROME E. SOLOMON, JR. , USN - DEC. 23. 2007

DD-846 and CAG-19 1950-1952; flight training 1952-1954; VF-193 and VA-195 1954-1959; Instructor in Navigation, USNA, 1959-1962; Nuclear Supervisor on USS Kitty Hawk.
 

LCDR. JOSEPH N. SCHETTINO, USN - DEC. 21, 2007

He was a Navy Pilot and Squadron Leader, early stationed at Morocco, Africa, then returned to the U.S. Naval Academy to teach Electrical Engineering for four years. Later he attended the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterrey, CA, and was then assigned to Key West during the Bay of Pigs Cuban Invasion. Joe retired as a Lt. Cmdr. on 1 Aug. 1961, and attended the American School of Foreign Trade, graduating as Valedictorian with a degree in Foreign Trade and Spanish; later becoming Sales Director for Europe for Motorola Company. Wanting a simpler life, he owned and operated a hardware business in Buckeye, AZ for over 35 years. He was active in the city's planning and growth, and became Mayor for  12 years. 
 

LTC. RICHARD D. HARRELL, USAF - OCT. 24, 2007

LB "At the Academy his interests embraced academics, Plebe football, Plebe track, and JV football. His keen wit will long be remembered by his many friends made while conscientiously attacking the daily tasks. With his winning way, pleasant smile, and desire to succeed, Dick will have no trouble advancing along the ladder to success." He was an attorney.

LTJG. MORTON BRETT, USN - AUG. 27, 2007

L.B. "His ability to be above average in a large variety of sports and to work in close cooperation with his teammates brought him many friends. Easy to get along with,  friendly, and tactful,  Brett will not soon be forgotten by those who knew him well."
 

LT. MAURICE J. CONDIT, USNR - AUG. 6, 2007

LB ".. a master mechanic who can fix anything from a radio to an automobile with a piece of wire and a pair of pliers. When he wasn't in his sack or on top of Mahan Hall (working on lights, he led us to believe) Boats could be found plodding around the cross country course in Thompson Stadium." As a Navy Test Pilot he set an altitude record for early jet fighters. He later became a technical writer and was an award winning ballroom dancer. 

CAPT. JAMES W. LYNN, USN - JUN. 17, 2007

Jim attended Supply Corps School, Bayonne, 1950; assigned USS Columbus  (CA-74) ; Supply Officer, USS Knapp ((DD-653), 1951-1953; Aide to RADM Parks, NSC Pearl Harbor; Office of Naval Material, Washington, DC,1957-1959; achieved MBA at Harvard, 1959-1961; Assistant Supply Officer, USS Proteus (AS-19), 1961-1963. He graduated from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at Fort McNair, where he returned to teach and retired in 1979 as Associate Dean for Program Implementation. He worked at Sperry Corp. in Florida until 1987, then returned to Alexandria, volunteering as a docent at the Smithsonian and Navy Museums.
 

LTC. CHARLES T. HOWARD, USAF - JUN. 8, 2007

LB "Chuck, or C.T.,  never sidestepped a task, always fought tenaciously to overcome the foe. Much of his time was spent as Business Manager coddling the Masquerader's accounts as a juggler balances hoops. With the friendliness of the Midwest overflowing, it is easy to fathom why this personable Prince Charles was so admired by the fair sex and liked by his classmates." 
 

CDR. STANLEY W. KROHN, USN - JUN. 1, 2007

LB "He sang with the 12-50's for whom he wielded a mean top tenor." He was assigned the USS BOXER (CV-21), 1950-1952; postgraduate student in Naval Construction, 1952-1955; new construction 1955-1959; USS INDEPENDENCE (CVA-62), as Main Propulsion Assistant, 1959-1962. He attended Hofstra University at night, earning a master's degree in Business in 1959, and ended his career as a senior engineering member with the Navy's Board of Inspection and survey under the command of VADM John D. Bulkeley. During retirement he earned a law degree from the University of Baltimore Law School in 1977.

CAPT. JOHN JAMES OLTERMANN, USMC - MAY 31, 2007

LB "To most of his many friends, Oltermann is known as FRITZ, a guy easy to get along with and usually agreeable to almost anything. However, once his mind is set, one of his native Oklahoma tornadoes couldn't change it.  Talented in the ways of academics FRITZ amazed people with the way he studied so little and did so well. His stock answer to a 4.0 was, "I was lucky"."  He served in Korea, retired from the Marine Corps in 1957 and was a consulting engineer in the oil industry.
 

1LT. CHARLES F. KYGER, USAF - MAY 15, 2007

LB "If not available at the radio clubroom, Chazz was probably grunting in the wrestling loft - the place fascinated him. His perseverance, alacrity for duty, and clarity of mind are sure to steer him aright, no matter what the course he sails."
 

CAPT. NORMAN E. CARPENTER, USN - MAY 2, 2007

LB "Fall and Spring found Norm bobbing lazily about on the Chesapeake, sailing being the only sport that offered him the opportunity to catch up on lost sleep. He worried about his possible failures and about the eye charts, but we knew he needn't have to - he succeeds at too many other things."
 

LT. GENE P. BRADY, USN - JAN. 31, 2007

He attended flight training in 1950, then served three years with VP-24 at Pax River flying P4Ys and P2V5s, and was assistant OinC VP-24, Guided Missile Department, Eglin AFB, Florida. He was then Executive Officer of a MSL, with Minesweeping Force Pacific for 10 months just before resigning. He received his MBA degree from Wharton Graduate School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania and worked for more than 25 years with New York brokerage firms, writing two highly acclaimed books on the stock market.
