CAPT. RODERICK T. RADCLIFFE,
USN - DEC.

Designated a Naval Aviator in 1951,
he was a flight instructor, CNABATRA,
1955-1958. Roddy served in the Executive Department, USNA, in 1950;
thereafter in VS-21, VS-36 and VS-26. His commands included VS-32,
Carrier Anti-submarine Air Group 50 in Key West, FL, and the Naval Air
Station at So. Weymouth, MA. He obtained a Masters Degree at George
Washington University.

LT. COL. SAM C. DURHAM, USAF - NOV. 28, 2003
Sam's USAF career included
postgraduate schooling in aeronautical engineering at Stanford University.
After retirement, Sam graduated from law school, gained admission to the
state's bar, and argued before the Washington State Supreme Court. Sam led
the effort to achieve recognition in Memorial Hall for John R.
"Chute" Dunham.

LT. MICHAEL M. GROVE, USN - NOV. 8,
2003
He served on USS Renshaw
operating with the U.S. Seventh Fleet during the Korean War. He then
attended the U.S. Naval Submarine School in New London, CT, serving
thereafter in the Atlantic Fleet on the submarine USS Irex. Mike
resigned from the Navy in 1955 and received a Masters Degree in Business
Administration in 1957. He worked for fourteen years with Robertshaw
Controls, Inc., followed by sixteen years with Imperial Knife Company as
Vice President and General Manager. In 1987 he formed Connors Grove
Associates, a business management consultancy, followed by a long term
affiliation with SCORE in the Boston area.

LT. COL. KENNETH E. BIXBY, JR.,
USAF - OCT.

(LB) "Bix is noted not only for
being a great man to have on a party, but also for his success in
athletics. In high school he played varsity football and basketball while
captaining his high school's baseball team." Ken commenced flight training at
Connally AFB, Waco,
TX. He later earned an MBA from the Air Force Institute of Technology
and entered the Procurement Field, retiring in 1975 as a LTC,
USAF. He worked in contract management at Hanscom AFB,
MA, retiring in 1980.

VICE ADM. DAVID F. EMERSON,

2003
Dave graduated from USNA with
distinction. After a brief sojourn in Naval Aviation terminated by a
flight
deck mishap aboard USS Bairoko (CVE-115), he became a destroyer
sailor. He enjoyed four surface commands prior to selection for flag rank in
1972. He served at BuPers, the Naval War College (student and staff), OpNav and OSD;
in-country in Viet Nam on staff ComNavForV, as deputy director, Navy Program
Planning, ComSoLant, DepComNavSurflant, COMOPTEVFOR, and director, RDT&E.
After retirement as Vice Admiral, Dave worked as VP, R&D, High Stoy Tech. Corp and VP,
Kapos Associates.

LTJG. RALPH F. BAGLEY, JR.,
USN - SEP.
27, 2003
Ralph earned his wings and served
one year as a fighter pilot during the Korean War. He
resigned as a Lieutenant (jg), US Navy, in 1956. He earned a law degree
from the University of California and was an assistant U.S. Attorney with
the Department of Justice in San Francisco from 1960 to 1972. He worked as
the U.S. Attorney in Guam until his retirement in 1977.

CDR. DICK W. THURSTON, USN - SEP. 17,

(LB) "A serious nature
manifested in dramatics and music, he made a place for himself in the
Masqueraders, Choir, and cruise happy hours. Dick had a good sense of
rhythm and proved it in the Drum and Bugle Corps. Never one to over-study,
he glided through four years of trying academics, often surprising even
himself."

He served on USS Trout. After
retirement from the Navy, Commander King was a real estate developer with
Read and Read and a principal developer of Romain Retreat. He was a member
of the Carolina Yacht Club, the Society of Colonial Wars and St. Philips
Episcopal Church. He loved the great outdoors and pursued his interest in
sailing, hunting and fishing.

After becomming a submariner, he
skippered the USS Runner, served at the Bureau of Ships, and was
assigned to underseas weapons school at Orlando Naval Training Center.
After retirement he earned a master's degree in education and taught at
Lyman High school. He was editor of the Clan Mackenzie Society of the
Americas.

He served on USS Thompson,
USS Queenfish, USS Salem. USS Corey, USS Duncan and
USS Black. His tours included operations in the Korean and Viet Nam
theaters. His last tour was on the staff, CNO. Following retirement he
worked for Sperry Univac and Nordan Systems as a combat systems
consultant.

LT. DOUGLAS D. STONE, JR., USN

20, 2003
Dake was born in Berkley, CA. He
served in Korea. Received an MA degree from Stetson University and worked
in the Apollo program with General Electric Company. He formed Continental
Properties Services in 1976 and served as CEO until retirement in 1996.
Dake enjoyed flying, as well as membership in the Kiwanis, YMCA, Blue and
Gold Navy League and the Civil Air Patrol.

LT. COL. CARROLL R. GRIFFIN, JR.,
USAF - JUL.
10, 2003
A retired LT Colonel, USAF, Duke entered
basic flight training at San Angelo, Texas. After receiving his
wings he flew F-80's in Korea. Through the AFIT program he received a
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, and later, a PHD, from the
University of Texas. He was assigned to the Air Force Academy and managed
research in phased-array radar at Eglin AFB, FL and Rome AFB, NY.
Following a tour in Viet Nam, he completed assignments in France and Germany.

(LB) "Bill and his clarinet came to Navy
together to drive his roommates beserk with the trills and to become an
important part of the Midshipman Concert and Marching Band." He
served as missile launch officer, planning and programming officer,
intelligence research specialist, missile training officer and a member of
the Strategic Plans and Policy Division, Office of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff, retiring as
LTC, USAF, on 30 June 1970.

mainstay, playing soccer, basketball and football...he likes the great
outdoor sports - hunting and fishing. An intelligent appreciation of
literature was reflected in his Bull marks. He enjoys a good argument -
win, lose or draw.

(LB)" 99.9% Of his day was spent
correcting the pronunciation of his name; the remainder on academics,
managing the 150 pound football team, and working on the Public Relations
Committee. "Dav" made friends easily." He became a submariner;
served on USS Cutlass, USS Dase, USS Irex, USS Archerfish,
USS Sea Poacher and commanded USS Tusk and USS Marin. He

and USSMarin. He earned a law degree and became deputy district
attorney for 28 years.

He was a military aide to President Kennedy,
Commander USS Maddux, XO USS Boston and USS Prichett. Dir. of Naval
Operations for CINCPAC, Chief Staff Officer for Military Sealift Command/
Atlantic. He received the bronze star. On retirement he was skipper of tour ship "Rella
Mae". He enjoyed barbershop singing and held private and commercial
pilot licenses, as well as a Master's License, Unlimited Oceans.

Worked for Westinghouse in nuclear engineering. Served as Pennsylvania's
Sec. of Admin. from 1973 to 1975; Sec. of Public Welfare from 1975 to 1978;
Dep. Admin. of
U.S. Healthcare Fin. Admin. from 1978 to 1979. In retirement
he traveled to more than 60 foreign countries; had tea with Archbishop

LT. DONALD K. ROBBINS, USN - FEB. 11,
2003
Robie attended flight training ,
then served in the Korean Conflict. He resigned from the U.S. Navy in
1955, operated a towing and ambulance service in Portland, OR. He had a great
effect on the community through his real estate practice and was a member of the
Royal Rosarians.

LT. WILLIAM B. FARNSWORTH, USN
- JAN.
2, 2003
A submariner, Bill served on USS Sea
Owl and USS Atull, and was awarded the bronze star for valor in amphibious,
minesweeping and rescue operations in the Korean theater. He was later a
manager for the Polaris Program at Raytheon Inc., and retired with thirty years service.
He was active in wildlife and
natural resource causes, a licensed pilot and a member of A.O.P.A.
